During Roy Smith‘s Presidency of Kent Rotary, 1924 to 25, the weekly bulletin appeared in a new form and under the new name “Rotareminder”. It began with the issue on June 17, 1924. The publication of The Kent Rotareminder made a favorable impression on that of Everett Hill the PresIdent of Rotary international and  he asked to be kept on the mailing list.

During the month of July, 1924, a tornado swept thru Northern Ohio doing devastating damage. Kent Rotarians gave generously of their time and money in the relief efforts.

The Rotary Gong by which thousands of our meetings have been opened and closed was used for the first time on August 5, 1924. It was presented to the club by Glenn Grace.  In his  letter of presentation, he stated, “that when you hear this gone under the wallup of the president, I should like to have you think of service”.
