Thank you Todd Kamenash for testing our wits at last Tuesday’s club meeting. I learned an interesting assortment of trivia that I am unlikely to ever recall. I also learned that we all have a random file of miscellaneous knowledge tucked in our brains that when we come together, we achieve something… or at least have fun with it.

- It’s time to register for the District Conference. Go to our District 6630 website (www.rotarydistrict6630.org) and you’ll find information on the conference and you can register for some or all of the conference. PLEASE consider joining other Kent Rotarians for dinner on Saturday evening, April 23rd. In addition to its being our very own Governor Larry’s final conference evening, our club will be hosting a hospitality suite after dinner.
- It’s also time to let the 2022 Auction Committee know what you’ll be donating at this year’s Rotary Auction. The auction will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022. More information will be coming, or you can reach out to Stacey Richardson (stacey.richardson@kentfreelibrary.org) or Lauren Talion (lauren.talion.un76@statefarm.com) with your questions or auction items. We are all concerned about the situation in the Ukraine. There is information about what Rotary International is doing in providing aid in the region on our District 6630 website (www.rotarydistrict6630.org). Our sister club in Aurora is raising money and has a generous member who will match funds up to $5000. If you are interested in donating, I suggest you send your money to them. They will be working through RI, but your dollars will go further with that match. Here’s an excerpt from an email from their club president, Ron Echelberry.
Many members have asked about giving to the Rotary Disaster Relief Fund to aid the displaced people of the Ukraine. This is a legitimate relief fund whose sole purpose is to aid the refugees leaving the country of Ukraine through Rotary Clubs in Europe. It is not for arms and ammunition.
A club member has graciously agreed to match any contribution up to $5000. Any monies collected will go specifically to this Relief Fund.
All donations are to be mailed to Rotary Club Of Aurora Foundation, PO Box 795 Aurora, Ohio 44202 by April 20. Local funds will then be lumped together and then sent to Rotary International Disaster Relief Fund. Any donation is tax deductible. Please make checks out to Rotary Club of aurora Foundation with a notation Relief Fund on the memo.
Donors do not have to be Rotarians, so feel free to send this notice to friends and neighbors.
