Speaker
David Myers introduced former Kentite and children’s book author, Jeff Miller. Jeff is a graduate of Kent Roosevelt and is currently living in Chicago. While at RHS, Jeff was a member of the Colonel student newspaper. He studied media/journalism at the University of Cincinnati.

Jeff shared his love of books and humor, first developed in fourth grade at Franklin Elementary School. He shared how he stumbled into being published while volunteering in New York City. He is the published author of three books published by HarperCollins. The book series is titled The Nerdy Dozen. The first book in the series is summarized as ”When Neil Andertol and a motley crew of video-gaming whizzes accidentally download top-secret training software and are recruited by the military to restore a botched aircraft mission, they're no longer playing for points—they're playing to save the world!”

Jeff is currently working on two other children’s books. One book is tentatively titled Rare Birds and is inspired by his own relationship with his mother as she underwent a serious illness. The other is an ode to his 6’2” sister’s elementary school experience titled The Tall Tales of Sidney Trout. His books are recommended for ages 8-12, though he hopes all ages will find humor in them. The books are available to order on Amazon or from HarperCollins at: https://www.harpercollins.com/author/cr-108071/jeff-miller/. Library cardholders can also find the ebooks on Hoopla and Overdrive.
