Dear Fellow Rotarians,
I enjoyed our speaker this past week and his message of helping to build community. The more we know and learn from each other the better we are able to impact and give back to our community. We’re fortunate to have people and programs available to us like Kurt Ruehr and Leadership Portage County!
Speaking of Curt, we said farewell to Curt Stumpf on Tuesday who was kind enough to visit us one last time before moving to Colorado. Curt was an active Rotarian who served this club for several years as a dedicated board member – he and his family will be missed!
In more happy news we congratulate now Past District Governor Larry Lohman! Larry had an excellent year serving as the District Governor and the official banner exchange and awards ceremony was a great event this past week. Larry is our club’s third District Governor and we are grateful for his leadership and service to Rotary – Thank you Larry!!
Lastly, it came to my attention that the Kent Social Services shelves are quite literally bare. I’d like to ask you all to consider bringing canned food or shelf stable items to our meeting on Tuesday to do our part to help their good work in our community. I’ll also pass the hat to raise cash funds if you are able to donate that way. Thanks to Rebekah Wright Kulis for her help and action to support Kent Social Services and our community!
Thanks and see you Tuesday!
Yours in service,
Dave
