BIRTHDAYS:
Roberta O’Keefe fell halfway into the Akron gorge as a child and her parents never found out.
Dave Hansford rode his bike to and from Camp Manitoc—23 miles—and his parents never learned of his adventure.
HAPPY BUCKS:
Plenty of happy people, especially David Dix, who announced the birth of his and Janet’s first grandchild—a beautiful girl born to Tim and Chelsea Dix in California.
Will and Karin Underwood’s son Richard, a pilot, got engaged in the air.
Carol Crimi is happy the Rotary Water Project was approved and encouraged Rotarians to join a delegation trip in June.

President Rachel says our club is looking for a host family for next year’s Rotary Youth Exchange student. See Asad Khan for details.
Steve Dennis reminded club members of the Every Rotarian Every Year. Forty percent have responded with an average donation of $92. Please bring a check for at least $25 to Steve, John Ryan or Matt Carter.
Ben Tipton announced that Kent Social Services is looking for volunteers to distribute toys and food packages on Tuesday, December 17 and Wednesday, December 18 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Contact him for more information.
Bill Childers is looking for Bell Ringers for the Salvation Army. Thanks to Kathy Myers, David Dix, Anita Herington, Will Underwood and Ralph Kletzien for volunteering last weekend.
ROTARIAN OF THE YEAR: Jennifer Lennox was named to this prestigious honor by the Club and received a standing ovation.
NEW MEMBER Award was presented to Dominique Bollenbacher and YEARS of SERVICE Award presented to David McKeen at the Christmas Party.
Thanks to Rebekah Wright Kulis for organizing the Christmas party, which was a big success.
PROGRAM: Meet our new members, which was organized by Program Chair Stacey Richardson. The new members answered two minutes of questions. Here’s a highlight from each one—if you are intrigued, please talk to them personally!
Andra Polasky: Her first job was picking strawberries at Hilgert’s Farm.
Julian MacKerty: He studied jazz in Italy and currently writes stories and music as a hobby.
Lisa Soeder: In a previous life, she worked for the Bedford Heights jail.
Todd Packer: A six-month trip to India changed his life.
Dennis Campbell: He has a collection of 170 bottles of bourbon and a total of 300 bottles of whiskey in his basement.
Kathy Scott: Her first job was playing the Easter Bunny at Chapel Hill Mall. FYI, that bunny head was hot.
Mitch Planey: His first job was selling apple dumplings at the Canfield Fair. He made $75 for the week.
Shannon Zemba: She and her husband are huge train enthusiasts, and items from their collections are displayed at their restaurant, Over Easy at the Depot.
