Our patriotic song was the National Anthem led by David Dix on piano.
It was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance

Dominique Bollenbacher led us in singing This land is your Land.

Student of the month-
Stanton Middle school
Amari Cobbin, joined by his parents Elise and Ernie Cobbin. He is an 8th grader at Stanton and one of his favorite teachers is Ms. McComas because she has helped him improve in English Language arts. While he excels academically, his true passion is on a field or court. He plays baseball and basketball. His parents are local sport legends and there is no doubt he will follow them in high school. Be on the lookout for him in the future as he hopes to play college ball at Ohio State or NC State, ultimately playing professionally.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Todd Kamenash reminded us about the Bracket Buster. We are excited to hear from Laing Kennedy as a speaker soon. Thank you Jenn Lennox for helping and next week WHO?
- Anne Moneypenny shared that March 6th from 4:30-6:30 will be a chamber after hours at Laziza. The topic is “How to train your robot with AI focus”. March 19th there will be a chamber luncheon at the Battleground and it will cover Ai in marketing.
- Tom Larkin shared that our long standing relationship with the Four Way test at KRH has been lead by Pam Harr and that she is retiring at the end of the year. He thanked her for her leadership and mentorship to kids over the years.
- Tom also shared that 2 Rotarians will be inducted to the Kent City Schol Hall of Fame. Randy Smith and Sandra Reid. The induction, hosted by Rotarian Howard Boyle, is Saturday April 5th at the Kent State Hotel. There will be a cash bar at 5, dinner at 6 and a ceremony to follow. If you are interested in attending, reach out to the board of education, as tickets are limited.
- Dominique Bollenbacher talked about the upcoming auction next week. We received the items that are going to be in the live auction, today is the last day to share if you plan to be at the auction and we have raised $13,280 for the Rotary Foundation so far!
Will underwood- annual 4 way speech contest. Organized around the four way test, these students have speeches that 4-7 minutes long
Pam & Jeff Harr, Nicki White, who will be taking over next year, and 4 students, Madison Price, Emmalyn Walters, Brenna Vodilla and Riley Ghosh.
Riley spoke on the ethics of ai and technology in the classroom and education.
Madison spoke on standardized testing.
Brenna spoke on the importance of the music programs in school and why it should not be cut.
Emmalyn spoke on the equality in women’s sports.

Riley Ghosh was the winner of the contest!
Asad Kahn and Todd Packer gave an update on Safety Town as the judges deliberated. They shared the Dream Team: City of Kent, Kent School District, Kent Parks and Rec, Kent Junior Mothers, Kent State and a Safety Town Expert. The location is owned by the school district, next to Holden Elementary School.

Roger Sidoti he would love to sit down with each student, they did great at engaging us. We surprised Mrs. Harr with flowers for all her work! We gave her a Rotary standing ovation
