Once again I want to thank Laing Kennedy for an enjoyable month of programing. I honestly can not think of anyone more qualified to guide young athletes facing ethical dilemmas. It is inspiring to know that one of our members is impacting our community in such a powerful way. We look forward to next month’s programs as we explore how our educational institutions are preparing to impact students during these exceptional circumstances. This couldn’t be more timely as we all wrestle with how we as a society keep a lid on this infectious beast.

I want to give the club a heads up that we will soon be voting on a bylaw change to establish a new committee and Board position. Immediate Past President Roger appointed an ad hoc committee last year to look at club finances. This Ways and Means Committee under the direction of Previous President David Sommers has been meeting regularly over the past year. The Board has recommended that it become a permanent committee to assist with establishing a budget, assisting the treasurer in reporting club finances on a regular basis and exploring new fund raising options.

Again, ending on a personal note. My youngest grand-daughter, Sloane (aka BoBo), age 3, is learning how to water ski. She has an inflatable “ski trainer” that we pull behind the boat with her ever vigilant mom closely monitoring. Her determination and bravery astound me! Her proud “PaPa” wishes he had half her confidence.
