This week we heard from technology expert Sandra Wheatley Smerdon, who also is president elect Kathy’s sister-in-law. Her talk opened our eyes to the sophistication of internet “hackers” and steps we can take to protect our online devices, which now include not only our computers but phones, televisions, security systems, “alexa-like” devices and entertainment devices. Next week we hear from Bill Benoit, President of UH Portage Medical Center.
Our club continues the celebration of 100 years of service to our community. Many members are actively planning the culminating event of this year long celebration on October 23. Carol Crimi, Nancy Whitehead and Rebekah Wright Kulis are putting together a gala event for that evening at the KSU Hotel and Conference Center. Ben Wolford is developing a video documentary to be presented that evening and is asking us to submit photos from past Rotary events to ben@theportager.com. David Dix, Jim Myers and Tom Hatch are working on updating the clubs written account of the last 10+ years to add to the already published 3 volume record.
