This week, September 21st, remember to bring items to the meeting for our “Pack the Bus” Food Drive.  Items they would like are: Boxes of individually wrapped Granola Bars, Breakfast Bars, Fruit Snacks, Peanut Butter/Cheese Crackers, Cookies, Chips, Nuts, Other Snack Items.  Also Toiletries for Oral Hygiene and Small Hand Sanitizers.

Please let me and/or Matt Carter know if you would like to have a Rotary shirt.  We have both t-shirts and polo shirts available.  I will continue to take orders through September 28th.  If you need more info, come to the meeting this Tuesday or next or send me an email (Kathy.myers@colemanservices.org.)

We have been made aware that we are losing money each week due to the fact that we are not buying as many lunches as we have guaranteed the United Methodist Women.  The guarantee is part of our contract with them and they cannot make money without serving a certain number of lunches.  For the last two weeks, our club has paid more than we have taken in… an unsustainable situation.  At our board meeting on Thursday, we had an in-depth discussion and have a sub-committee who will be exploring options for us.  Unless we start buying more lunches each Tuesday, we will be making changes to how we handle lunches.  If you are interested in knowing more or joining the sub-committee, please reach out to me.

Finally, every club is required to have a Youth Protection Officer, and a number of club members have participated in the initial information sessions on youth protection.  Todd Kamenash has volunteered to be our YPO.  You will be hearing more on what we, as club members, will need to do in order to adequately fulfill our requirements.

See you Tuesday.  Don’t forget to bring items for Pack the Bus!

Let’s Serve to Change Lives!

With gratitude,
Kathy
