The other special event was all our guests from the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program. We had 18 (or so) guests from various countries in Europe and Western Asia. One in particular, Mila Sokolova, from Ukraine. As you may know, her husband and 5-year old daughter have had to flee their home in southeastern Ukraine for a little more safety in western Ukraine. When David Dix played the video of the Ukraine National Anthem for our second song, she asked Dave Myers, who was seated next to her, if she could sing. Dave said it was a powerful, unforgettable moment. Since Mila cannot return to her country, she is staying with relatives in south Florida.
