Dear Rotary Friends,

It is Father’s Day as I write this.  I hope all the wonderful dads in our club are enjoying this gorgeous day and feeling the love from their families!

At last week’s meeting at Walls Elementary, more than a few of our members picked up their lunches and did not stop to pay for them.  Admittedly, the set up did not lend itself as easily to paying before picking them up.  If you were one of those, please be sure to pay Matt Carter $10 for last week’s lunch this Tuesday.

Yesterday, on the gorgeous Saturday morning, we launched this month’s Story Walk.  Thank you to our Fire Chief Bill Myers for being a reader for the book, Share Your Rainbow.  The kids seemed super impressed to have the Fire Chief there.  (Being a big kid myself, I was very impressed.)  President-elect Dave Myers dressed as the Black Squirrel.  Kids had a great time bringing him leaves and other debris as gifts of food.  He politely declined.  Thanks to those who brought mac and cheese and granola bars to our meetings for the Ben Curtis Family Foundation.  All donations were dropped off at the collection boxes downtown.  I am including some photos below.

As a reminder, on June 24th, under the leadership of Anita Herington, our Rotary Monarch Queen, we will be planting Milkweed at Towner’s Woods beginning at 2:00 pm.  If you can help, please meet in the parking lot at Towner’s Woods.  There are more plants than last fall, so all who can help are much appreciated!  If you have questions, reach out to Anita.

I look forward to welcoming two new members to our club this week.  Denise Baba and Tim Naftzger will be inducted.  Please join us Tuesday!

Thank you to each of you for all that you do for our club and our community.

See you Tuesday!

With gratitude,

Kathy
