Rotary Club of Kent meeting minutes
Dr. Randal “Randy” Smith become President Randy when he is sworn in next week as President Roger brings a successful Kent Rotary year to a close.   Via Zoom, we will watched Randy take office along with his cabinet of fellow officers and club directors.

Christmas in JulyTodd Kamenash reminded everyone of our big Christmas in July celebration July 25 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. via Zoom.  Todd asked Rotarians to fill out the survey by going to the link:  https://kent.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_51Jai6HbDGfn1nn. Todd credited Alyssa Mazey with creating the survey.
 
President Sidoti thanked the membership for all the contributions to the Rotary Foundation.  He also announced over $4,000 in dues is already in.  Way to go!  Lastly, he thanked the membership for all their support and the board for their time.
 
Program:
 
Following the traditions of the past an induction ceremony was held.  This one, a little different, was held by recorded video over zoom.  Roger S. was able to successfully hand over the President’s pin from 1941 to new President Smith.

Newly sworn in President Smith then took to the podium.  He thanked Roger for all his leadership in the past year.  President Smith then introduced Larry Lohman who thanked Bruce Hansford for his help at the district level over the past years.
 
President Smith gave thanks to everyone for putting together the induction ceremony.  He thanked Rick Bissler for sponsoring him 36 years ago.  He also mentioned Larry Lohman will be the third Kent Rotarian to serve as District Governor.  Also, Kathy and David Myers might be the first mother and son team on the board. 
 
President Smith then went on to cover the 2020-2021 Budget, Strategic Plan, and the timeline.  All of which are available online for your review.  He did request, to help with the budget, each Rotarian donate a check for $40 to help cover the income being lost from not having our lunch income while meeting on zoom.  The checks can be made to the Rotary Club of Kent.
