The Kent Rotary Foundation – our story

Our Rotarian motto of “service above self” helps us to DO GOOD wherever Rotarians live, work and travel.  We are People of Action in our community and internationally.

Our purpose: To promote and serve charitable and educational needs of the greater Kent community and in Portage county; and to receive by gift or bequest any money or property, either absolutely or in trust, to be used toward this end.

The Kent Rotary Foundation funds programs and projects of 501(c)(3) organizations and other charitable groups in the following three areas: (1) Education and Literacy; (2) Alleviation of Poverty; (3) Health and Wellness.

Since its inception in 1989, the Kent Rotary Foundation has awarded over $875,000 in grants to local non-profit organizations that enrich the lives of Kent and Portage county residents and students.  We also help to fund groups supporting the mission of Rotary International including the “End Polio Now” initiative, the training of future peacemakers; the development of clean water projects in Central America and providing disaster relief around the world.
