The Rotary Club of Kent
August 19, 2025
President Amanda Senn called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone to a
special meeting at Stanton Middle School. We sang the National Anthem and Mark
Pennell offered the invocation.
There were no visiting Rotarians at today’s meeting. Rachel Kerns introduced her sister
Milissa visiting from Istanbul and her niece Sarah. Emily, our Rotary exchange student
from Germany was also a guest.
Announcements
Bill Childers invited Rotarians to sign up for the Emilio Ferrara Memorial United Way
Golf Classic at Windmill Lakes on September 11 at 1 pm.
Ben Tipton asked for a couple of volunteers to serve at the Lord’s Lunch at Trinity
Lutheran on Saturday at 9:45.
Ann Moneypenny reminded us that the Chamber Golf Outing will be held next Tuesday.
Nithya Venkataraman noted that Sept 11 at 4 pm at The Battleground will be the Pints
for Polio fundraiser sponsored by the Kent and Talmadge Rotary clubs.
Happy Bucks
There were many Happy Buck contributors today, including Tom Hall for his recent hole-
in-one, Christy Anderson, Paul Organ and Kathy Myers for the successful Auction Party
last Saturday at the Myers’ home, Tom Larkin, Bill Childers, and Ben Tipton for a
successful year for kids and teachers. Laura Martin Miller celebrated the coming of
another child in January. John Flynn celebrated his recovery and is looking forward to
an upcoming Ohio State football game.
