What a way to kick off the new year! We had a very impressive speaker, Marti Flacks, CEO, of The Cleveland Council on World Affairs. The Cleveland Council on World Affairs (CCWA) is a non-partisan, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Cleveland, Ohio, with a mission to inspire engagement in international affairs and world cultures through education, citizen diplomacy, and public dialogue. Marti offered global insights into the current position of the US in global supply chain as well as where we are heading in the future.
Marti Flacks is Chief Executive Officer of the Cleveland Council on World Affairs and a Cleveland native with over 25 years of experience in U.S. foreign policy. She has held senior roles at the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Security Council, State Department, and leading global policy organizations, focusing on economic security, international diplomacy, and human rights. Thank you Bill for introducing us to Marti! And we look forward to hearing more from her and the CCWA.
This week we will hear from Professor Mwatabu Okantah.
Remember to bring your produce to the meeting on Tuesday. Nancy Whitehead will be delivering to Kent Social Services through January.
Also, keep in mind the roadwork is continuing on Main Street so give yourself plenty of time on Tuesdays.
