February 25, 2020
Randy Smith called the meeting to order at 12:10. After singing “God Bless America,” and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, Carol Crimi offered the invocation. Todd Kamanesh was also the designated photographer for the day. Mike Lewis is the Rotareminder author.
Visitors: There were no visiting Rotarians. Visitor Matt Kulla from KSU Rotaract
  • Todd Kamenash reminded us that the annual Rotary Bracket Buster is coming up. Proceeds will support Kent Fire’s purchase of AED units.
  • Shawn Gordon passed around a sign up for this years Rotary Reads.Please sign up to ready at one of our local elementary schools.
  • Todd announced next months program schedule.
  • Matt Kulla announced this month’s Rotaract meeting.

Today’s Program:
Meghann Featherstun MS RD CSSD, sports dietitian & wellness coach
Meghann is a registered dietitian and certified specialist in sports dietetics – which means she’s an expert in sports nutrition and helping people assess overall nutrition and identify areas for opportunity to meet individual health goals.
Meghann has a BS in Dietetics from Miami University and a MS in Nutrition from Case Western Reserve University. She has worked at University Hospitals for 11 years and in her current role as a clinical dietitian for UH Population Health, she works with employees, the community, and corporate partnerships to better health through nutrition and exercise. For her work creating an employee nutrition and weight loss program, she earned the Crain’s Healthcare Hero Award in 2013.
Meghann also works with runners and other endurance athletes in her private practice, Featherstone Nutrition. From a 3:58 to 2:57 marathoner and mom of two little ones, Meghann understands the importance of fueling well for life, training, and overall health.
Meghann covered the newest fad diets.  Her power point is very informative but unfortunately it is too large of a file to attach.  If you are interested in a copy please contact Michael Lewis and he will try to get you a copy.
