Our meeting on August 24^th will be held at Stanton Middle School.  We cannot meet at the church since they will be setting up their Trash and Treasure Sale.  (Be sure to visit and support them during their sale.)  We will get to meet the new Kent teachers at the 24^th meeting… and what better place than at the school.  More info will be coming in the next few weeks, but I hope you will plan ahead to be there.  You can attend that meeting via Zoom, though I it will be a more basic set up than that which we have had at the church.

 

Last Tuesday we got a Kent Covid Update from Joan Seidel, Kent City Health Commissioner.  She reminded us that while Covid is in the news, flu season is coming up and we will want to get our flu vaccines.  Speaking of vaccines, she emphasized that the Delta variant of the Covid 19 is much more transmissible than the original version.  She quoted several well-known authorities who have said that if you haven’t been vaccinated, it’s not IF you will get it, it’s when you will get it.  I want more than anything for this pandemic to be completely behind us, but I think we will be fighting this for a while.  I hope that everyone in this club and beyond stay healthy and safe.
